Be Where You Are

December is here and for most it could not have come soon enough.

2020 surely smashed and shifted all our expectations, for good or bad. We have never had a year like this before and hopefully we won’t have to repeat it any time soon.

That being said, if we apply the right mindset, any experience can be seen as valuable, whether it was fun or not.

This week we only have two tips to share:

One  do not let this year go to waste. During the last month of the year, take the time to reflect on what you have learned: about yourself, your ability to adapt, to handle change, stress, and uncertainty, about those closest to you and humankind in general. Think about what was good, what could have been better and who or what you are grateful for. This was a learning experience, so take the time to celebrate the progress you have made.

Two – wherever you go this month and whoever you spend your time with, be there. Just for a short while, forget about the future, lockdown, Corona and 2020. Be where you are. Spend quality time with the people you are with, whether by choice or not. Take in the experience. Use all your senses. Do not allow your mind to wander to the places you have no control over – rather, focus on where you are and be totally present.

The take-away

This month, starting today, be where you are.
