How are you different from two years ago?

Can you believe it has been two years since the lockdowns started? We were reminded this week of the different plans and goals many people had leading up to the initial hard lockdown – all the things there was now time for since we didn’t have to travel to work or school anymore. We made plans to get fit, learn French, run a marathon in the yard, bake banana bread, finally read that book that’s been on the bedside table for six month.

And then we came to realize that this new way of life wasn’t going away anytime soon. And here we are two years later, still not completely back to the way things were before. To be honest, things will never be exactly the same as they were before. Good or bad, that’s the way it seems to be.

The question for this week is this: “In what ways are you different to when the pandemic started?”

Did you follow through on the goals you set? What have you become better at? What have you left behind? What have you learnt? Where have you grown? In what ways are you healthier or better adapted?

Or where have you possibly slipped back and fallen behind?

It’s good to look back every now and again. Firstly, to notice the progress you’ve made. But also to notice where you might be a bit off track.

Today and over the weekend think about this: “How am I different that two years ago?”
