What would an extraordinary version of you do today?

You are likely to make many choices today. Like each day. Over time, the way you choose starts to define who you are. Your choices influence your identity. Your identity influences your choices. Repeated choices become habits, to the point that you do not have to consciously make them anymore. They become automatic. Much of what you do every day falls into this category. Good or bad, these repeated routines, actions, thoughts, feelings, and reactions become your normal. The everyday, ordinary you.

Ordinary does not mean bad. You might be very proud of who you are. Hopefully, you are. But if you’re like most people, there are probably some areas that could be different. It would be to your own and the benefit of those around you if you made some adjustments. And you know this.

So why not choose to be extraordinary?

Extraordinary does not mean the same as being the world champion. It implies (correctly) that we are capable of being more or different than who we currently are. It is the ordinary you, but with a little bit extra. And the cool thing is, you get to choose the extra.

So, what would an extraordinary version of you do today?

…say hallo, no or sorry?

…ask for help?

…take the first dedicated, purposeful step towards that thing you’ve always wanted to do?

…forgive someone or yourself for something in your past?

…go back after failing multiple times and trying a different approach?

…do that one thing that really scares you, but you know you should do?

…count to ten (or 20) before responding?

…smile or laugh or cry or hug more?

…be kind, particularly to that one person that does not deserve it?

…run, write, cook or just sit still?

…clean that room or organize that mess that has been driving you mad?

…say yes to the person you’ve always wanted to become?

Think about it. What would an extraordinary version of you do today? And then start doing that.
